  • "I would like to thank Dr. Robert Owens for changing my life for the better. I am 50 years old and suffered all of my life from chronic ear problems. When I was 21 years old I went through 12 hours of surgery on my right ear, and, as a result, I have been totally deaf on that side since that time. I did pretty well with it until I started suffering from hydrops in my good ear about five years ago. My hearing got worse and worse every day. I kept hearing about the BAHA but could not find a doctor to put one in. I went to Dr. Stephen Krzeminski in Granbury, TX, and he referred me to Dr. Robert Owens in Southlake, TX. This was one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. Dr. Robert Owens started treating me and said that he would not do surgery on my good ear until he got some hearing on my deaf side. He did surgery on me July of 2008 and put a titanium plate on my right side along with the screw for the BAHA. I had to wait three months for the healing process. I then got my implant — wow, what a difference in my life. The surgery wasn't anything, I think I took one pain pill through the whole thing. It was so amazing to be able to hear on the right side again. It changed my whole life. It was amazing to be able to hear from that side. Later on Dr. Owens performed surgery on my good ear, and what a difference it has made in my life. I am so grateful for his skills and willingness to help me. I have waited for a lifetime for this man. He is definitely my HERO. I can't say enough good things about what he has done to change my life."

  • "For three years, I had been having dizzy attacks that would last about 17 to 24 hours. With each attack came nausea, everything spinning, and not being able to even walk down the hallway without holding on to someone. It was getting worse. Then, a friend told me about a doctor who would be able to help me. After having enough of these attacks, I called and made an appointment with Dr. Fred Owens. During my first visit, he did a hearing test along with a few other tests and questions and said I have Meniere's disease. He was very thorough in showing me the ear diagram and how all this affects me. He gave me several vitamins and prescriptions to take.

They worked for about 18 months and then the attacks came again. He suggested ear surgery to place a stint into my inner ear to give the fluid a way to drain. It worked and I have not had any dizzy attacks in over 5 years. Other doctors told me that I would have to live with these attacks for the rest of my life. Dr. Fred Owens is the only doctor who told me on the very first visit that I do not have to live this way. He was right. I now have a great life and I am healed from the dizzy attacks. I owe Dr. Fred Owens and his nurses my gratitude and highest regards for their knowledge, loving care, support, and determination to help heal me. Thank you ,Dr. Fred. Keep helping others."
